I drove the 50 miles and got a "hub kit & sensor" replacement. Thanks to all the advice. :thumbsup:


I have a 2000, 4 cyl Alero. Here lately when I backup and then go forward all the trac off, service engine, anti lock lights come on. It only happens when I backup, like out of my driveway and then go forward. Anyone know why? The only place to get my car serviced is about 50 miles from me.

Welcome to Alero Mod. I would drive the 50 miles and have it serviced at a dealer for any electrical problems.

this is clearly a hub/bearing/cv joint issue.


first the lights come on in reverse.... a few weeks/months later you hear clunking noises, then you hear grinding noises... yea, you should get it fixed soon.

Yeah. You'll want to fix that pretty quickly.
