there are 2 power wires going to the factory amp in my 2001 alero w/monsoon. anyone know if these are continous hot wires, or ignition switched? if there ignition switched, i should be able to tap into 1 of them for my remote turn on for my new amp. i cant find my multimeter anywhere to test it. anyone know?
otherwise i have to run a wire up to the fuse panel in the front left...does that pop off so i can attach a wire to the back of the radio fuse post? |
take a 12V light to them and check thats my best suggestion. Turn ignition on see which has power and when the key is off make sure it doesn't have power.

do you have a power sunroof? if so then just run your remote to that fuse on the passenger side fuse box, set yourself a switch and that way you can control when the amp is on or off instead of it always being on.....IMO its safer and better this way....

EDIT: tapped into E10 dk green......antenna realy coil, works like a charm for the remote turn on (thanks to someone off grandamgt.com)
sounds AWESOME, when cd's are in, the sq is much higher than i expected. i guess the HU puts out a pretty clean signal, i used 2 tsunami LOC's (the premium ones with dual gain control). my 5 channel amp was very expensive though(soundstream vangogh) that and some nice speakers, it looks 100% stock inside which was important to me, but sounds really good, and really loud :D |
