I own a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GX model. I would like to get Foglamps for it. I know fog lamps dont come optional from the factory on the GX model.
You might already have seen that some Alero's come with fog lights installed as a factory accessory. My Alero never came with it so I would like to know if it is possible to buy it as an accessory/part? If so what would be the GM part # so it would be easier to ask for a GM part # when I go in to order the fog light package. Thanks a lot Regards, Jordan Romas |
You could probably get the foglights on ebay. The holes for the brackets, if they aren't there, they just screw into the bumper with 2 10mm bolts.
The wiring would be the hard part. I'm sure you have a fuse in the fuse box already for it, but I don't know how to wire into a fuse box |
try:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...m?siteid=213815 type in your car info...then pick "front lamps"..........then pick "fog lamps"....:smokin: They don't give the stock#'s but do provide the price. It may be cheaper to order it from this dealership. They have them for 64.15 each. You can get a good aftermarket set for about $50.00 for the pair. |
i like how the fog lights look...but they dont do ANYTHING trust me, i cant even tell when they are on. id get aftermarket foglights
|
My 2001 GL doesn't have fog lights either, I'll probably go with aftermarket. :smokin:

I can tell a difference with my stock foglights

I have stock ones, and the scope of them is very limited. I would like to change mine, because as they are now theyre completely useless.

I have the stock fog lights on my Alero. I notice just alil difference while driving. Like I can see just alittle more off to either side of the car. Also, I've driven once it HEAVY fog with them, they don't do much at all, mainly because our headlamps are so low to the ground, you really don't need foglights, they're just for looks.
My advice... Find some nice aftermarket fog lamps and install them instead of looking for stock. You'll be alot more satisfied and it will be more functional. Good luck to ya with the wiring. ;) |
