Ok, so i've been looking at a new alero... and I want a 6 cylinder coupe, but I haven't seen any on like... autotrader or anything like that, I was just curious which model is the V6, is it only the GLS? or do other models have them as well? all the coupes i've seen are 4 bangers... and also, if anyone would be kind to post, or direct me to an area where they compare each of the models of the alero. Thanks Everyone!

you can get the V6 in the GL as well...but not the GX

im not sure which year that site is talking about but in 2000 the spoiler was not standard on the gls coupes

I was checking out that site and I can't really tell a lot of details different from my 99. Other than the radio, everything else looks the same. But hey I guess if it aint broke you dont fix it.

I beleive those are the options for the last year Alero was sold. So if you are looking for a 2004, that would be helpful.

and the 02s and the 01s and 00s and the 99s..its all the same car year after year...I can't stand it anymore!!!...give me a fahking update

The options had to have been different for at least the 99s. I have a 99 that's labeled a GL with the 4 cylinder. it has 4 wheel disc brakes with power windows, locks and mirrors, and factory foglights, all consistant with a GL1. but it came stock with the 15" steel wheels and hub caps, and the stereo without the "speed-compensated volume control", which is supposed to be only the GX, and not only did it not come with a remote keyless entry, the car isnt even equipped with the control module for it. I guess you could kinda say i have a 99 Alero GXL1.... :huh?:

^ to clarify, I think the spectrum from "bare minimum" to "fully loaded" goes like this:
GX -> GL1 -> GL -> GL2 -> GLS

If it's not that, it's pretty friggin close.

AleroBloke 02-01-2005 04:02 PM

my GL came fully loaded......wait.....i'm missing the leather....shucks!

mike2002 02-02-2005 12:39 PM

ive got a 01 gls 4door, how do i know if i have the sports suspension? whats the difference? ive already upgraded shocks and springs.....is that why some alero's sit higher than others?

aLeRogrL21 02-02-2005 06:11 PM

My 02 is the GL v6 full-loaded coupe without leather, but I didn't want leather.

If you've upgraded the struts and springs, then you have the sports suspension.

WOW

good call

FormulaNERD 02-02-2005 08:01 PM

well suspension components consist of much more than struts and springs, but i doubt olds upgraded anything else with the "suspension package"

actually, someone on here bought sprint springs and found that his car already had eibachs... it was never declared that they were aftermarket from a previous owner, or stock (maybe part of the sport suspension package?)

mike2002 02-02-2005 09:06 PM

well some alero's came stock with sports suspension, and like formula said, shocks and springs arn't all thats in a suspension, the olds version may have other "beefed up" parts in it.

El Pablo 05-22-2005 08:04 PM

i got a 04 alero coupe, it's got a v6, and it is pretty phat

Oldsmopimp 05-22-2005 09:18 PM

The way to tell the sports suspension is the stock tires. (16" premeium)

The regulars on a GLS were Goodyear egale LS's

The sport suspensions were goodyear eagle RS-A's
