I hear this creak when i am turning and braking or when im turning into the drive way. then when driving over alot of bumps u can hear the suspension or wheel arms moving. waht would cause this? the might feel mushy too.

could be a worn out upper strut mount or bushing

AmericasChoice 12-20-2003 09:33 PM

is it normal for a strut mount to wear out and how can u telll?

Going over the bumps its the strut mount.. i have had my upper right strut mount replaced 5 times now.. and the car is only 1 year old with 40,000kms on it... GM refuses to see there is a problem... just 1 small problem on the long list of problems of this fine american CRAP automobile...

If it's happened that many times, you must have a pretty serious alignment or strut issue- you need to contact your area warranty rep

My area warranty rep is a JOKE! ... They dont care.. they have my money... its ridiculous... i mean GM service is just a JOKE.. ive had 3 panels repainted on my car because of poor service and lack of care, ive had the window regulators done 3 times, in which case the B-Pillar covers have been replaced all 3 times and the windows have been replaced 2 times... its absolutely DISGUSTING

johny_boy32 12-21-2003 02:53 PM

that sucks man...sounds like you got a lemon.

OLDSskool 12-21-2003 03:28 PM

sure did.. and the buyout on the car is $8000 more than the car is worth! GOOD JOB GM IN BUILDING A QUALITY AUTOMOBILE THAT HOLDS VALUE!

How does an upper strut mount need replacing FIVE times in a year? It's just a piece of rubber if I'm not mistaken.. I don't get what would cause that to go bad so often... is it just not lined up properly with the strut or something?

OLDSskool 12-23-2003 07:22 AM

Final... I have no idea whats happeneing.. because of course the chooches that hand you your keys or even the service advisers have no idea what they are talkin about and good luck trying to talk to the mechanic that actually did the work...

How much does it cost to get those upper mounts replaced??
