"Invincible" is based on the TRUE story of Vince Papale, who tried out for the Eagles at an "open tryout" in 1975 and made the team.

The following are PRINCIPAL ROLES:
[FOOTBALL PLAYERS] All ethnicities, age 21-35. We are looking for the 1975-76 Philadelphia EAGLES (and some opposing players) As well as being speaking roles, these (obviously) need to be EXCELLENT ATHLETES! We prefer talent who have AT LEAST college football experience. Please do not submit anyone over 6'0".

NOTE: Those booked will be required to attend a football training camp in early July.

Just found out: “Invincible" is a new Disney film starring Mark Wahlberg.

I would apply since I can fit everything they need (I even have "70's hair") except for their requirement that each person applying have at least college football experience. Never played it in college or HS, always a beer league man myself. :(

Redog 05-24-2005 06:03 PM

Yeah I never played football in school either :(

I'm gonna wait for them to hold casting calls for non-union extras. I'll get in the flic somehow. :thumb:

Well this time the casting office and the field shoots (if they are at the sports complex) are in better areas than that place at Broad & Girard Streets :beerchug:

Daytona 05-26-2005 01:12 PM

^Why? Who do you know on the Iggles?

smlzalero 05-26-2005 04:42 PM

 I don't know any Iggles.. what's that?

Daytona 05-27-2005 01:20 PM

That's how Philly folk pronounce Eagles.

They also say:
'pop' instead of 'soda'
'immies' instead of 'sprinkles' (others call them 'jimmies' yet some PA folk can't even get that right it seems)
"spewn" instead of "spoon" (though they spell it right)

smlzalero 05-27-2005 01:25 PM

LOL! I thought it was some sort of kids' television show.

And there's nothing wrong with saying "pop"

Daytona 05-27-2005 02:06 PM

^only correct if you're talking about your father.

smlzalero 05-27-2005 02:16 PM

Whatever. I call my father Father or Dad.

Soda is something you bake with.

Redog 05-27-2005 07:08 PM

Na we don't call soda pop

Youse don't know nothin about Philly, yo, and you ain't learnin like that. :P

OPEN CALL FOR ACTORS AND EXTRAS
Heery Casting will hold an open call for actors and extras on Saturday, June 18, 2005.

The movie, being produced by Who’s Nuts Productions and distributed by WALT DISNEY STUDIOS is based on the true story of Vince Papale, a 30 year old bartender who made the Philadelphia’s professional football team in an open tryout in 1975. He is the oldest rookie to play in the league, never having played college ball.

Filming begins July 27 and continues through October, 2005.

The project is seeking men and women of all ages and ethnicities to portray avid football fans and Philadelphia neighborhood types. All actors/extras will be paid. This is a non-union call, but both Union and non-union actors are encouraged to attend

The call will be at the WACHOVIA Center in South Philadelphia. Enter through the Broad Street gate and park in Lot C. Enter through Broad Street North entrance (next to “fan gear” shop.)

Those with last names beginning with:
A through H will be seen from approximately 10:00 AM to 11:30 PM
I through P will be seen from approximately 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Q through Z will be seen from approximately 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Please bring a recent snapshot of yourself. It will not be returned. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

**This film is set in 1976 - men should let their hair grow! **

NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

Suck-ass. :( With all your flippy hair, you'd be perfect.

Redog 06-13-2005 09:34 PM

Plus the WACHOVIA Center is really easy to get to, you can see it off I-95.

O yeah, WACHOVIA Center is the name this week  the buliding is only 9 years old and has had it's name changed 4 times now.
