Does anyone know where I can buy the window templates for cutting my own tinting sheets for an 02 Alero. Please let me know :)

THANKS!

i don't personally know. but anytime anyone suggests doing it themself, someone always tells them not too.

i'll be that person. pay to have it done professionally. it'll look like ass if you don't. and the price will be about the same.

doubleN0alero 06-16-2005 10:22 AM

most professionals just lay it right up there on the window and cut it down that way

Tinting windows takes a certain level of skill. If you've never done it I wouldn't suggest doing it. You shouldn't need templates. Just cut the shapes using the outside of the window as your template and use an extremely sharp exacto knife.

I have done my own tinting jobs though. I just cant do back windows that have defrosters.. I have done numerous types from small trucks, 2door/4door cars, SUVs, etc... I just wanted to know if anyone knew where i could get the window templates.

i dunno about the back window part, but i can vouch for it bein fairly easy..i just did my buddy's neon last night, and turned out great...except for one where we had a lil incident with my dog :glare:

might as well just paint them? thats what i did on the rear window of my 84 mercury capri.

sound_xtreme 06-16-2005 10:58 PM

lol, nah. i can still see out of em pretty good. looks pretty good. got one more window. not gonna do the back one myself, i'll take it to a shop for that. but ya, so far so good.

ptrudel 06-17-2005 08:37 AM

could you get a pic of it at 2.5%?

i gotta redo mine soon, but don't know how dark i wanna go

Alero04 06-17-2005 08:48 AM

awwe man i wish my car was 2.5%!!
my 5% isnt dark enuff for me :P

pcaveney 06-17-2005 09:50 AM

umm 5% :o
im doing 12% and thats plenty dark.. plus cops in michigan are real @$$holes about that stuff...

Alero04 06-17-2005 10:35 AM

well my back is 5% and the front is 20%(i have a coupe).
the cops around here are normally harsh with that stuff too, but they havent even looked my way twice*knocks on wood*

cherrington17 06-17-2005 01:40 PM

damn! 70% of light through is legal here. i just got 35% all around and its plenty dark for me. plus i can get pulled over for that here in no time. ny sucks ass.

Alero04 06-17-2005 01:49 PM

what i have on my doors is VERY illegal here. the back we can legally tint them as dark as possible.
the ricers are right paranoid about their tint...whenever they see cops they put their windows down...f*ck that noise tho. i aint putting my windows down for them. if i get pulled over i get pulled over. ill just put on the innocent act and use my dads name :) 'Oh ur dad is sargeant G? no way!!!! oh well Lindsay...u have a great night and keep it safe. no ticket for you! '
its great :P
