I have the two rear 6x9s out of my old '99 Alero, and I put them in my new truck... I have a Pioneer CD player, and they don't hit near as hard as they did with the Alero CD player, so I was just wondering if there is some resistance difference or anything like the Bose systems use.

At maybe 3/8 volume, they burp/fart worse than the stock speakers up front in my S10. Is there anything I can do to fix that? Also, I turned the CD player up to maybe 1/2 volume and I blew the ground fuse that was already wired into the harness (had a Jensen tape deck in it when I bought it). TIA.

Anyone? Anyone have any ideas at all??

Yeah the resistances are differeant

Bose systems traditionally use lower resistance speakers, ie 4 ohm, as most car audio speakers do, thus they are usually a good match for aftermarket headunits, however you say it sounds worse...
You have of course verrifyed that all the positive speaker connectons are to the positive on the deck... and so on...

are they obstructed by anything? carpet on top of them?

I thought Bose used 1 ohm... Which makes the speakers become overloaded at certain frequencies. I'm using the Delcos that were stock in my '99 Alero, they weren't Bose at all. Just thought I'd clarify that. I actually ran the wires through my dash , and under the door sills of my S10.

I made a discovery the other day, they work better without the negative hooked up :crook:. It may work out soon though, because I sold the Pioneer to a friend who needed it more than me, and I'm just going to get the Alero head unit. Anyone have one for sale?? ;)

If you are talking about carpet on top of the speakers, then no. I know my way around car audio, but this is something that I haven't dealt with. And yes, I had to download a wiring diagram from Pioneer because I bought the CD player used and didn't know which wire was which.
