There is a guy here in Buffalo,NY that does visors. I had them done for an older car I own & it cost me $50.00 for the two & he did a great job!

I'll sell my ya white leather wrapped visors for $50 plus shipping. I'll snap a few pics of them if yall are interest. My next mod will require me no use for them. So later on I'll have my sunroof and roof frame for sale too.

The sunvisors are tricky, When ya take them apart, You need to glue on the new material, then you need to take it to an upholstry shop and have them sow it back together. You need the professional sower, Cuz it would require a fairly thick large needle to go through the sunvisor cardboard, in order to be sown back to 1 piece.

i can tell you how i did mine, i can't really show you tho cuz i didn't take any pics.
i traced the outline of the visor on the backside of the piece of material i wanted to recover it with.
Put 2 pieces of material together with the sides of the visor that will be showing facing each other, your basically gonna sew it inside out. then i cut out the pattern on the 2 pieces of material, leaving a 1/2 inch of extra material all the way around.
i sewed 3 1/2 of the 4 sides with a sewing machine leaving just eough of a hole so that i could slip the visor into its new skin.
turn it inside out (remember since you sewed them inside out, the one you traced off the left visor will now cover the right visor, and the one you traced off the left will cover the right one.)
Put the visor in its new case keep the material folded and nice and tight, and sew the hole closed. Leave a little hole for where the clip attaches, and poke a hole in theend to put the visor rod back thru so you can put it back up on the roof.
if you have a mirror you wanna cut out for, cut a hole about 1/2 inch smaller then the mirror and tuck the fabric underneath the edges using a butter knife.

thats how my upholstry shop did mine.

its inside of the visor, so you'll separate the cardboard seem u see they come together in the middle. But once you separate it, the only way is to sew them back together . If u glue the cardboard piece together, you'll get warped distorted look.

no, i didn't have to do that to get the rods out, actually you don't even have to unscrew the clips off the roofliner. I've seen 2 different types of visors, mine when you pull on the visor a.ong the rod it extends so you can move the visor in more directions. if you just keep pulling when its fully extended you can pull the visor right off the rod. Then all you have to do is push it back in later. You may have to do it a few times to get it postioned right so that there's tension on the visor when you flip it up. good luck.

ok guys, i'm finally getting around to completing this...
first: the original fabric isn't sewn on, its fabric glue...
second my only problem is i would like to take the mirrors out..but they have been riveted to the cardboard inside...
anyone have any suggestions on getting them off.
once i have them off i would like to paint the mirror bezel black to match the existing roof liner...

You want to take the mirrors out, but you still want to paint the mirror bezels...What are you putting in place of the mirrors? Or you just want to remove them so you can paint them and put the mirrors back in :huh:

I would guess you'll have to drill the rivits out and then replace them with new ones once you're done.

edit yes i would take the mirror with the bracket out, then probably see how easy it is to take that out, if its going to be a female dog then ill just mask it off and paint it that way...

just pull hard and the mirrors and plastic cover will come out. When i did mine, yea the visor is a big cardboard. We just glued on foam padding like 1/8" thick, then on top cover in white leather. But you need to get a sewing machine and sew it back together like this.



i didn't put the mirrors back on either, but i got them still. If u want to buy mine and dye it to whatever color.. it'd prolly be easier for you. looking for $40 shipped.

ill see what i can do, i think ill look around the local hardware store for some poop today or tomorrow, im pretty tight on money right now, deposit and rent due the 1st so...
