So I went to go start my car this morning. Turned the key and ....................! I had my gf give me a jump and still .........................! NOT poop! So I took her to work in her car obviously. And came back to see if my baby would start and still .....................! Autozone said they want $56 for a new battery. But what if that's not the prob. I just had a new battery and alternator put in a year and a half ago. So right now I'm leaving to take my old battery to Autozone so they can check it for me. :( It's been a bad day.

if she tried jumping you and you got nothing, it sounds like you have a different problem. your alt might be dead too. i'm not gonna say the battery isn't dead, because it very well could be.
but i'm more of a human doc, not a car one. hopefully someone else can direct you to the problem better. |
^^ I agree. If it was just the battery, it should have started with a jump. Did it make any kind of noise when you tried to start it?
|
i'd bet its bad battery cables.. corroided or something. My buddy had that recently.. tried jumping his mazda 626.. but nothing happens. . it was the cables.
|
Well Autozone said the battery was bad. So when I replace it tomorrow I'll update ya'll! Thanks

did you have any interior lights when you got in the car? windows go up and down?
did it just click? did the start spin or engage whatsoever? with the right connection even on a dead battery the motor should have turned over, i don't think i've ever had trouble jumping a car on a low battery. I'd say it's your cables too, check and make sure they're tight and there's no corrosion on em. Sometimes you can still have interiior lights with a loose connection but no cranking power. |
The interior lights wouldn't come on. I couldnt even pop my trunk! my keyless entry wouldnt work. the automatic door locks were dead. obviously i got no power from the sunroof or windows either. I think i accidently left my neons plugged in all night. so that would explain the battery and maybe why we couldnt jump it. we did wait a min while jumping before we turned on my car. errr tried to turn on. it probably just drained completely. and if it was my cable would autozone carry replacements and are they cheap and easy to install?

autozone has cables too, just match em up if you had no power whatsoever either it was a cable problem or 2, your battery was dead. you can have autoone charge it free of charge and see if it holds up afterwards |
olny a toasted batery will not jump or a alt problem. if you just drain it it will jump and neons dont draw that much curent i have left my interor neon on all night and no problem
|
GOOD NEWS! It was just the battery. The ho is up and running once again. Although the red battery screw it corroded on the tip so i can't hook my fog lights back up untill i replace it.
