Hi everyone,
My roomate is pretty deep into Grand Ams and says that MP3 decks come stock in 03+ Aleros. Is this true? And if so, where can I buy a new one? Thanks, Brian |
I hadn't heard about this. The features and specs on oldsmobile.com mention nothing about an mp3 player for the 2004 model, and I doubt they'd offer it in '03 and not in '04. The features and specs on pontiac.com mention an mp3 player as an OPTION for 2004. I searched on Yahoo a bit and found many reviews mentioning an optional mp3 player for the '04 Grand Am being new. So the '03 Grand Am had no optional mp3 player. If the Grand Am didn't have it, neither did the Alero.
This is something hard to disprove. We just won't ever find proof of it existing, which is kind of like disproving it... ![]() Can't remember who at the moment, but there are some people that work for GM on here that could answer much more definitively. |
Even simpler... just ask someone on the site who's got an 03 Alero!

I have a 03 alero, however mine is a lower option car, but as i recall in Grand AM's the top end monsoon system is Mp3 capable,
ETR AM/ FM STEREO W/ CD PLAYER/ MP3 PLAYER - inc: seek & scan, auto tone, clock, RDS, TheftLock Code: US8 $290 Allthou its not listed on the website if you walk thru the "build your own grand am" it gives it as an option... Going thru the same thing for an alero... 100 SERIES AM/ FM STEREO W/ CD/ AUTO- REVERSE MUSIC SEARCH CASSETTE/ EQUALIZER - inc: seek/ scan, digital clock Code: U1Q $290 allthou it dose not say it plays mp3's or that it is monsoon... its the same platform, and same price... question is.. will it play mp3s?? anyone with a 03/04 alero care to try an mp3 disk in their car?? (i beleave mp3 was an option on 03 ga's aswell...) -Tristan |
my friend who works for Gm has an '03 model Grand Am, and he has the mp3 player...problem solved
|
No, problem not solved....totally. BTW, thanks for all of the info, but where can i buy one of these new?
|
why not just purchase your own instead of busting your ass trying to get a stock one?
|
i agree, or how about going to the company that makes them, GM? Last i checked audio stores dont carry stick OEM radios
|
You can talk to Gm or more specificly DELCO the company that makes all or most of gm electronics, or your best bet IMO would be to visit your freindly local neighbourhood wrecker...
But thats me.. theres a good chance you will be able to get one that way.. because Gm will want an arm and a leg for one.... :pissed: |
