Hitting that ETS button does nothing for some...

Hitting that ETS button does nothing for some reason, I just assumed it had to do with my abs & parking light being on....
If that is not the case, then I have another issue :'(

Ok, so I just bought a 99 alero(2.4 auto) 2 days ago.

My first domestic car!!
Only had 158,474 km on her.
So I think I got a really good car.
I dont have the Haynes manual yet, Im hoping to pick 1...
