If it was an aftermarket antenna it was a real sloppy install - and I guess I must still have half of it tucked in the headliner/pillar...

What is the black thing hanging by the driver's side of the windshield on a 2003 Alero? Is that part of the OnStar system?

Can I just cut it off?
