I recently got new tires for mine as well, since my other tires were well into the wear-bars and winter is coming. I got Goodyear Assurance Tripletred tires, which are also a directional tire and are supposed to have excellent tread life. A pic of the tire can be found here.

So far I've driven with them in heavy rain and they seem very good even at 80mph. And handling compared to my old tires is much more stable through corners and more available grip, although my memory of my old tires is from when they were really worn out so it doesnt take much to see an improvement.
