Traction problems
Ok, I already know where I wanna go with the suspension, and I already know that some of the measures I want to take will get rid of that problem (or at least reduce it).
So far, I have the ass-end raised up and stiffened which reduces weight transfer. Coming soon is front-end tie down.
I have put wider tires on the front (not drag radials though).
Here's the issue. I can hook-up and move out off the line just fine, because the turbo doesn't start spooling until 500 RPM's off launch, but on the 1-2 shift when it's hammered and winding out will just break loose and cook the rubber off the tires and never get traction again unless I let off the gas pedal. This kinda sucks, especially since my tranny doesn't exactly have what I'd call a high torque gear ratio. I'd expect this behavior from a 3.26 or 3.29 gear, but with a 3.05, it should allow the tires to hook up when shifting. Maybe I should back the high RPM's down from 7k?
If anyone out there knows of any N-body products that will assist with traction, I'd appreciate it. I'm not a suspension guru, and to tell the truth, I honestly thought the transmission would give before just cooking the meats off it in second.
