like was said losing oil and corrupting both systems is a problem, my brother left his go after i told him to get it fixed, the car ended up firing a rod through the bottom of the block, not pretty. But that was after driving it for 3 months that way. Put some bars leak in it and keep an eye on your oil, maybe change it a little more than regular and cross your fingers. Where are you located? Cause $1100 is uber high. If you were close to me i would do it for around $250 plus materials.
