You definitely need a Passlock module for GM cars that have keyless entry. If it is a manual transmision you will have to unhook the wire that locks you key in the ignition. Then you will have to remove the central panel so that you can get behind the ignition. Once you have acces to these you have to hook few wires in there, the rest has to go to the fuse panel on the driver side and one wire is hooked up in the engine bay to the electronic distributor(I think that what it is). This is the install for a ecotec engine with manual transmision. I know the guys who were installing it and they had a tough time. I have the compustar with starter, alarm and pager. It was working fine for about 2 years and now my fueses for the compstar are melting. I keep putting in stronger and stronger fusses but I will reach the limit soon. I am at 40 ams now and when you touch the fuse it is pretty warm. Not a good sign, something has gone bad. I guess my suggestion would be let someone who really knows this stuff install it for you. If you still decide to do it yourself there was few posts here and on the Grand Am forum on how to do it. They had pictures, and diagrams and the whole works.
