I think that you are right that the alero's should have the passlock. The 2004 web page lists it under standard options. However, mine may not be working. I do not have security or a passlock light that lights on my dash. I did have to have my ignition changed a month after I bought the car. The curious thing is that I asked if they needed both of my keys for to be recoded to the ignition. I was told that they did not need them for my car. I know that the old systems had to code the key. Does anyone know how the newer system works?
