I say if you want to go faster than the speed limits, find a safe area that does not have surface deformities (runway/race track), have the correct speed rated tire so it doesn't explode/shred beyond 100, and have at it. Stock, the Alero can reach 140+ MPH no problem. Modified, about 168MPH with drag taken into account. Far faster than you ever need to go..
Generally, if you have to ask how, you should not know. You're going to be an idiot that turns into another statistic for "street racing" on a poorly made public road with other vehicles and objects all over the road.

I just read this and disagree...I don't think its ignorance that would say not to tamper with the speed limiter, and you don't think everyone has an Alero? Pretty common car I think! Really if anyone was wanting to drive fast whether it be acceleration or top speed they should drive a car thats made for it or at least designed with that in mind. I've never seen anyone get an Alero up to 140 mph stock, I have a hard time believing that one. Maybe modified as you stated but not stock.
