If you have a decent garage, access to an air compressor, and a decent mechanical aptitude/artistic aptitude, or know someone... you can do the job yourself and make it look quite decent... some say blah blah blah leave it to the pros... I say teach yourself something... not something i reccomend starting before you've thoroughly researched and talked to people who have some experience... and you will prolly have to learn along the way... but I totaled me alero and did all bodywork myself... i also kitted and shaved the eclipse at the bottom all by myself... i have had no training and no prior experience... spent 75$ on a used bumper (thank you stryder) an ebay fender, about 40$ in resin jelly/bondo/ 50$ in supplies and about 200$ for (too much) paint and clearcoat and supporting chemicals. my dad had the compressor, and i got him to buy a 50$ HVLP paint gun... if i had a sealed garage it would ahve been better as i had to wetsand and buff the dust out of it when i was done... but it sure beats a 2-3K paintjob... the most diffivult thing about the whole process is the second coat of clear. but it can be done... and you of course wouldn't have to do anyhting to this extent... you could just re-do the front bumper... and hope it matches well enough
