Ya I'd stay away from 1. mom and pops shops and 2.brake shops in general although Midas has been OK in the past the 1st ones tend to be hit or miss as far as knowing what they're doing and b. screwing you. the 2nd ones .. brake shops can be hit or miss also as they're all about making money. I had a shop tell my old lady she needed to spend $1,700 I went down and told em to F*** off and reported em to BAR since the vehicle was in pristine shape and only needed pads. Dealerships make plenty of money and use service to keep customers Happy thus getting to come in when they need a new vehicle. I' am all for dealership service although costing more the quality of work is usually much higher IMHO.
