I believe it's paintable...as for using the stock stuff...the hood attaches right on to the stock hinges and latch. The only thing is u have to change the stock hyrdolics that hold the hood up. The stock ones are about 1/2" to 1" too long to work with the cf hood. u can attach them, but then the hood cant close...i tired
