If you cut it and just tape the ends if the battery dies it will take the car out of fail/disable and you will not be able to start the car. If you put a toggle switch on it, and you battery should happen to die, just flip the switch to the on position and you should be good to go. Of course if you are having to wait 10minutes to start the car then you will be back in the same boat...but then once the car is started just flip the switch back off and you are good to go.....if you understand what we are saying?
