I use the turkey baster method. Suck the fluid out and refill with fresh fluid. You won't get all the fluid out of the system using this method. I do this over a few days and I'm good to go.
Personally I don't like running the car while the hose is disconnected as I don't like to see a pump run dry. I also don't like to introduce air into the system but I hear it easy to bleed the system.
