if i remember correctly, when i had my trans rebuilt (2.4) the tech took the left side cradle bolts completely out, then dropped the right side cradle bolts as far as they would drop without completely coming out, then unbolted the motor mounts, suspended the motor from up top and somehow finagled the trans out
