Drum roll please...

It happened because you had head unit power being applied to the amplifier. Keep in mind that the output from an amplifier is AC current....

You just cant do that. You cant bi-wire stuff for maximum boom. It doesnt happen and as you found out it dont work.

I highly suggest reading the above site so you learn the proper way of doing things.
