I just changed my ignition switch but the security light stays on but car starts fine. Light never went off did I not do it long enough? I did it a good 10 min, then tried it again for about 15 min. Do I need to wait 30 min?

I have a feeling if I go down the road it will shut down the car. Yes, No?

Help please.
