On an aftermarket head unit, the remote wire for an amp will be blue with the white stripe. On the stock headunit, the remote wire is dark green (top side of the harness, third pin from the right). This dark green wire goes to pin E10 on the stock monsoon amp if you have one.
Monsoon pinout
If you're installing another amp along with the factory amp, tap the remote wire somewhere near the factory amp in the trunk and run that to your amp.

aftermarket kenwood, i did the install, and i used the blue wit whitte stripe. i don't have the power (4 gauge from the battery) or the ground hooked up yet (i am waiting on the wire). but should the amp turn on? i wouldn't think so cuz there is no ground. but that is the only way i could think of on how to see if the rem was hooked up right. also my radio has three sets of preamp outs (RCAs) one says front one says rear and one says (non fading). which would be best to hook it up to?
thanks

well, what speakers will you be powering with your amp. Front Speakers = Front RCAS and so on. I assume the third set is your sub out. and no the amp will not power on with only the remote hooked up.....

Sorry to sort of thread jack, but I just say this...
So, with an aftermarket deck with the factory amp... all I need to do is take the aftermarket HU blue w/ white remote wire and tap that into the Dark Green wire from the stock harness in the center console? (top side, 3rd pin from the right).
That would make my day, as my system has been installed but I can't get the dang factory monsoon amp to turn on and there is NO remote turn on lead for the amp. It's been a royal pain in the butt here to get this working.
Let me know if I have it right and I'm going to finish this up finally!!

I am gonna assume you are talking about the remote wire that tells the amp to turn on and off (just putting a basis to my post). I hooked my remote wire up via the passenger side fuse box that also has the wire for the sunroof running out of it...not sure what its called exactly.... anyway it works fine
