So i get the box, and me and my moms bf line up the subs right, drill the holes, connect the right wires in the inside of the box, then we screwed the subs in, connectedd the wires from the amp to the box.......i turned the system on, AND THEY WORKED FOR LIKE 2 MIN, i was gonna take a drive around, and when i was backing out they stopped, i took off the screws to both subs and they are still connected, and the light on the amplifier is still on...... Check your ground wire... make sure everything is tight. Also make sure your subs are wired properly....

What kinda equipment are we talkin about here?

Amp type/power rating
Sup type/power rating
Are these Single Voice Coil or Dual... and what Impendence are they 2 ohm 4 ohm?

Are you positive everything inside the box is connected well... Subs vibrate things loose

I need alot of info here befor I can try to help you out....

hmm, well i directly connected the subs to the wire from the amp and they worked, so i connected the subs in the box, and they still worked, so i tightened everything up and they sound nice. so i dont know what it was, but it works nowwww

Sooo.... instead of connecting the subs to the inside of the box speaker terminals. Then the amp to the speaker terminals. You just ran your speaker wires from the amp directly to the subs themself? Is this a sealed box... cause if not it isnt anymore.

And if they work fine now you must not have had the subs connected to the speaker terminals well enough and they vibrated loose or disconnected completely.

Use quality connecters and avoid problems like these. Equipment gets ruined and money gets wasted when things get half assed. Trust me ive had my experiences already with shadey installs. And sad thing is thats when i used to have my shit "proffesionally done." befor I learned to do the stuff myself and avoid costly repairs and install fees.

This is a sealed box, and it still is, this is what i did......

I took the subs outta the box, and i tried connecting the wires from the amp DIRECTLY to the subs, and they worked, so im like wtf, so then i connected the wires from the amp to the sub box, and then connected the subs to the inside of the box.....and they worked, so i screwed them back in, and they are good as new..... oh and i did get this installed at a place who does them real good.....boomer mcloud, they did a nice ass job at installing the system.

Are you using Connecters on the inside of your box to hook up the wires to the Speaker Terminal's and Sub?

Or are you just wrapping the wire around the connecters and hoping they stay?

And your amp isnt goin into protection mode right? And the amp is always on when the subs arnt working?

Also are your RCA wires snug and not loose on either the deck or amp?

I am using the connectors on the inside of the box.... everything is hooked up how its supposed to be. the amp is still on when the subs dont work, and there are no cables loose on the amp, i dont know about the deck though, im not gonna take that all off, cause i dont know how to do that shit.

This is weird though.......

not to weird....... most audio places do half assed audio installs. thats why you should just learn to do it yourself. all you do is remove part of your interior and run some wires. not that hard

if taking the deck out is as easy to do in my 99 then all you have to do is set the ebrake take off the shifter knob lift off the shifter bezel (undo any wiring under there) and take off the radio bezel and then use thelittle clips to pullout your radio (unless its stock then you havr to un bolt it) that is the easiest way to do it so you can get to all the wires

take the shifter off with a flathead, there is a pin in the front of it you have to pull out. then pull the shifter trim up(i can just pull mine up by pulling up near the cup holder). then you can just pull the radio trim out with your hands. and use a screwdriver if need be to disconnect the hvac plugs.

Ok i took everything off and looked behind the cd player, there was one gray wire that wasnt connected to anything, but i couldnt find out what it was for (most of the wires have what they are for on the wire) but i couldnt find anything that was loose, i played with all the wires and checked the hook ups to the amp....and the ground wires, i dont know what else to do.

I was thinking, does anyone think that the connecters ON THE side of the sub box are bad?? like where u hook the amp wires up to, and then inside the box u hook the subs up to them. is it possible that they are bad hook ups?????
I dont know what else to do.

it's possible the wires are slipping off the spade terminals inside, ive ran into that problem with those connectors.
