Transmission Service Shop Question
Hey Folks!
I had a question. I searched old threads and didnt really find the response I was looking for so i figured I would ask.
I have a `02 Olds Alero 2.2L with and Auto Transmission. Im looking to get my transmission serviced and I read that you have to get the shop to use a machine to suck it all out.
If I take it to the dealer will they suck all the old fluid out and change the filter or just change the fluid. I dont really see much sense in having it done if they dontchange the filter and gasket too.
Im gonna have this done at the dealer, anyone know about how much its gonna run me?
THanks

Anyone else have this done. How much it cost?

just got to your local quikie oil change place. ie lubestop/quick lube/etc........
they have T-tech machines there which is the same thing dealers use. usually costs about $80 at a lube place though.
best part is you can sit there and WATCH the fluid exhange threw the machine. it has clear windows in it so you can see them suck out the old fluid and then fill it with the new fluid.

they probably disconnect the transmission lines at the tranny cooler on the radiator. then the fluid can be pushed through it.
shouldn't be a problem

exactly correct. they unhook the tranny lines at the radiator and pump the fluid threw the machine instead.
most quick lubes do tranny as well as coolant flushes using the same type of machines that draw out the old fluid and replace it with new all threw one unit.
i used to work at a Valvoline Instant Oil Change when i was 16 so i know this is all true

Think I can let it go for another couple years till I sell the car?
I have no idea when it was done last in mine.
