Coolant Problem
I am having a problem w/ my coolant. My light keeps coming on and then going off. Whenever I speed around a bend or go up a hill it'll come on for a bit then go back off. I took back to the body shop since they replaced the radiator and such and they ran several pressure tests on it and all came back fine. I wouldn't think its the intake gasket as I'm not getting any smoke out of the exhaust. I was thinking that maybe it was a faulty sensor on the overflow but idk as I filled it and it stopped for 2 days and now it's back lol. Guess i better take it to the dealer as i have 13K left on my warranty. Just wanted to see what ya'll thought. thanks!

well if the low coolant light comes i can only think of 2 explanations..
1) the coolant is low
2) the level sensor is faulty, as you mentioned
you won't see any smoke from a LIMG leak. if you do see smoke its most likely a head gasket.

Just make sure it's very informative and all inclusive. Including preemptive messures and such. It probably won't stop the pointless posts though, I know at least one town in the UK has signs to tell people not to listen to their GPS systems since the roads are just too narrow for some trucks and trucks just keep crashing anyways cuz their GPS 'told' them to go down the narrow 1 lane road...

the LIMG is like cancer, you cant fix it until you know you have it. there is nothing you can do to prevent it. once you have it, get it fixed it right i.e. new style gasket and it shouldnt come back.

Yeah but it seems to be a fairly predictable cancer. So if I end up doing some maintance where replacing the LIMG would be convenient should I just go for it? Or should I just have the dexcool replaced if I come up with the cash to do it and leave the mystery gasket?

unless your head gasket goes there is no "maintenance" that deep into the motor or you have serious issues and should consider a total rebuild. my understanding is that it isnt really dexcools fault that the gaskets are going. its just a crappy plastic gasket and poor design for the manifolds altogether.

Ouch I haven't taken much time to look at the engine between work, sleep, relaxing, and sleep. I didn't realize how intimate a problem it really was... Guess i'll just file it in the back of my mind and pretend the problem doesn't exist at all, unless it happens to me lol.

Tomarrow. I promise. Today I sleep, tomarrow I'll some shots before work.(3pm) I might not get them up and posted till I get off work though. So very late Sat or when I wake up sun afternoon lol. I really wanted to pick up some new struts and springs before I had to take a picture but well, my first anniversary wiped me out for at least another month lol. Hell I'm still paying off the courtship =(

I have a warranty with 11,000 left on it but I have to pay a stupid 100 dollar deductible. Good thing is that if its under warranty since its LIMG gasket they have to replace your oil pump, water pump, flush radiator and fill, and oil change because oil pump is contaminated with coolant and water pump with oil
