Mustang Vs Alero
How close is an Alero with the 2.4 to being as fast or faster than a 94-97 mustang v6 auto or manual. What needs to be dont to make it better and quicker. And yes i do mean the track, i wont race on the street.

1995 Mustang 17.3
1999 Mustang 16.5
2000 Mustang 15.5
1999-2004 Alero 15.9-16.3
So far all the V6 mustangs I see on the road I own (on ramps are fun, met 3 of them in one day)

^sounds about right...i remember checking out specs on the GT 4.6L and 5.0L cobra, both rated at 215hp with 215 lbs torque (give or take a little on the torque).... kinda sad the v8s made so little power a decade ago from ford. hell even the stock 96-01 cobra only makes 300hp and 305lbs torque.
now if you get into forced induction, its a different story but thats not the point here. im so glad i just purchased a fully built cobra. would have dumped a shit ton more into the car to get a stock cobra to the point this car is at already

i put V6 info, however, we can hold off some of the old V8 ones because they only made a tiny bit of power (compared to most V8s) and weigh more

i think the v6s had like 180hp or something around there...never took the time to consider them a performance car once i saw the low power of the v8s

94 was the last year of the 5.0; cant quite compare it to the others.. my mom used to have one that was loaded, convertible, etc and it would smoke my alero NO problem. The v6 mustangs around that time were pretty gay though, its like they made them to compete in the economy market niche? Theyre in our shop more than my alero too (it seems..) whereas our old 5.0 is still kept in pristine condition and is reliable to this day. (The new owners are family friends) Theyre great cars!

who cares what she thinks? i like my alero its the opaline blue just like my birthstone, has held up like a rock to all the abuse and ricing i used to do to it, and i cant get rid of it. im attached. A car should make you happy everytime you get in it, otherwise its just not worth the money.... imo
( i wouldnt be happy with an old v6 mustang, its not worth shit either..)

V6 Mustangs are dogs, they are so slow and the convertibles are even slower. The times that Ion gave are dead on.
The V8 convertibles are slow too. One ran 15.15 all day at the track with a K&N air box filter and bolt on exhaust (nothing too crazy, I think 2.5 inch, duals maybe? I can't remember)
A 2002 stock V8 GT coupe will run around 14.6 or so, which My Alero matches
You can tell this girl that her is the shit, a piece of shit, the only thing her car has is the name plate

I roasted a 2005 GT V8 Convertible a few weeks ago. The paint job and rims on that car looked to be worth twice as much as my entire car. The guy looked like he was going to cry haha
