whining noise
my alero is making a whining noise, its not there until I hit like second gear and it starts to get louder as you go faster but its not the motor because it doesnt change if I put the car in neutral it sounds like my tires or something are rubbing but I have no clue what it could be(my aleros stock just so you guys know) anyone else have this problem?

I wouldn't doubt it being the wheel bearing. That is probably the worse part they put on our cars, in close contentions with the LIMG. When you turn the wheel to the left or right does the noise get any louder when driving?
It won't make any noise when you are stopped, but it will when you start going? Reason I ask those two questions is that if you answer yes to both of those, then it has to be the wheel bearings. I just replaced mine because of similar circumstances, and it was my passenger side wheel bearing. When I turned to the right, the noise would get louder, noticably.

Same here. Any dummy lights? I had SVS, Track Off and ABS light on everytime at the end. To see which one it is, lift the car up, put it in neutral, put a hand on the spring and roll the wheel. that way you can feel if its rubbing badly.
Its relatively an easy repair if you have the right tools. I don't, so I went at a friend's place and got it out. It takes like 30 minutes with an impact gun. too bad the freaking hub cost a lot.
Changed it last week and now the other one is starting to claim for a change, but no lights this time.

No prob nyorkrder.
Vinalero- I changed both of mine. The passenger side was the one making the noise, but when I took the driver side off it was starting to catch quite a bit and you could see it was rubbing away some of the metal. So I hear ya on changing both of them at around the same time. It is a bit costly, but be glad you are doing the work yourself. Shops cost a crap ton to do the work. I looked around for a bit at different shops to get it done because I didnt think I would have the time to do it, but it was going to cost anywhere from 150 to 300 bucks to get them both done. So, I said forget it lol.
It is really easy to do suprisingly. Just be prepared to make a few trips to the auto store. I broke two bolts and one slide pin and bolt. LoL. They just didn't want to come out, and I just umm got them by pulling out half of the bolt. lol.
