if the car starts to shake when you stop you need rotors too. But if you change the pads as soon as the squeaking starts you should be fine.

Once the rotors get so thin, or if they have deep grooves, they have to be replaced, but you've gotta have a micrometer to measure them. With proper pad change intervals you should be able to go through 4 or 5 sets before you need new rotors, as long as you've never worn them down to the backings...that usually requires a new rotor(s).

yeah....... I had to get rotors and pads replaced on mine cause idiot dealership never looked at them... there wasn't much of a pad left..... It was metal against metal... sooo rotors were pretty much toast... Odd thing was it never really made any noise when stopping... It just started making some noise when I started moving...

it could be dust inbetween the rotor and pads causing the squeaking, take one of your wheels off and check how much meat you have left on the pad

is it squeaking or creaking? there is a difference when it comes to fixing it.

Brakes never made any noise until it was too late... So I'm not an idiot thank you very much. As soon as they started, I had them checked... The guy said the pads have long been gone and I haven't had the car for very long...

if one day it does it and the next it doesnt, it is most likely dust inbetween the pads and rotors
