Clearing Corners

Did anyone else have tons of trouble with the silicone? I just attempted for about 2 hours and gave up. I tried to follow the guide in the How to section and had lots of trouble. I have never modded anything before and even this easy mod is frustrating. Anyone have some tips to make removing the silicone easier?

Yes I did, I ended up putting it in the oven to ease the pain of using a hair dryer for the whole thing. In the guide you can see his lights are not over the plastic clips. I ended up breaking on of mine trying to pry it off. =(

after its hot, you just need to pry a little at one of those clips, until the silicone spreads like 1cm.. then move down a little... pry again, then go to the other side and pry the similar clip up and repeat the last part. then move down a little.. pry again. then go to the next clip, push that up and pry a little... each little bit the end your working on moves, the farther apart the end you started on SHOULD move. then once you get 4 clips lifted, the last two you should be able to pry up a little, then just pull it apart with the opposite end, thats already apart...a la hulk hogan, shirt tearing style. grab one side in each hand and pull. mine wasn't a problem at all....

Sounds like your lights have been apart before cause the factory does'nt put that much on there to began with. Could be wrong though.

Don't worry I had the same problems. I have a couple broken plastic clips on mine and the dumb screwdriver dents. It took me forever to clear my corners and I'm talking about 6 hrs. It's very annoying and time consuming. Just take your time and it will come out good. I used a hairdryer, flat head, pocket knife, and tons of new silicone to put them back together.
