mount it on one side of the trunk... or at the verry front... or mount it to the seatback....
Refrence the radio... procedure is as follows...
Dissconnect batt
if auto, remove shifter... if manual open boot...
take out the lil matt thingy in the compartment under the heater controls...
pull up on the shifter/console trim, get ridd of it...
pull the radio bezel, and heater trim away.. the heater control will come with it... with it uncliped... unhook the HAVC controls... and remove bezel...
3 bolts hold the radio in... remove it.. and then remove the 2 connections at the back.. may be differnt for the monsoon system... i dont have that...
hope this helps

BLK03GXS,
On the two connections on the back of the radio, I can easily get the harness pulled out in 10 seconds but it's the black cable I'm having trouble with. It won't unscrew or come off, any suggestions appreciated.

If you are talking about your antenna connection it just pulls apart.

There are six clips... but you have to remove the lower shifter trim first.... as the shifter trim clips too the faceplate trim...
remove the shifter trim, then remove the radio bezel... it just is clip'd.. once u get the shifter trim off.. it will come off.. just start at the bottem...
