Thumbs up

Hey! I was searching around for a cool lisence plate to put on the front of myc ar. Here in MI there is no need for a front plate, but for some reason the vehicle i bought had a front bracket. see pics here...

http://www.eagleauction.com/Alero.htm

now, One that says Oldsmobile, or Alero would be cool. No naked lady silhouette please....

My otehr questions on that page there is also some pictures of my cracked fogs... i have been looking at otehr Aleros that i have seen around.. seems like this is a common problem? They still work... will this cause problems later on? Any help would be great.. I searched around but found no info on the lisence plates.

My advice on the license plate would be to take it off. The bracket should just be on with a couple screws. Well, looking at the pics maybe 4 screws. If you really want a plate, I'd look at AutoZone, Pepboys, or Murray's. Or get one of those airbrush places in the mall to do it.
As for the fogs, suprisingly, mine haven't cracked yet. It happens though. They aren't terribly expensive to fix, but you might as well wait 'till they stop working.
And, I don't know that I've seen you around (missed your intro, maybe), so welcome! We're kinda planning a meet for SE Michigan late this month or early May, and Brighton isn't too bad of a drive for ya, come on out! Info in Midwest.

Well the bro at the dealership said there would be four nasty screw holes in the bumper.

As far as a meet, Brighton isnt too far, but there aint much to look at on the 2003 Alero Ecotec, lol.

I did post in the new member introduciton by the way, I appreciate the help misslindseysue!! B)

The only way to find out is to take it off. You can always put it back on.

Maybe not, but there's a couple cool cars you could see, and meet us.

Oh yeah, and google search for Oldmobile License Plate.

I would take it off myself, but there is these wierd ass screws holding it on..

Its like a star or torx, but there is only 3 things coming out of it. I have never seen a screw like it in my life.

Ill take a pic when i get my car back.

Could someone give a how-to or a or a good explanation of how to take off the front license plate.

I have a replacement I want to put on and I have no clue what to do with those crazy looking screw like things.

I bought my car w/ cracked fogs, it's a 2002 and they do still work...it sorta pisses me off though because the fogs are like supposed to be a nice feature because they're projectors but they suck lol..I dont even notice a difference in lighting when i have them on vs off. O well..i'd just do what every1 else says and just wait till they DO go out for good.

When I bought my car it was a florida car so it had no front plate braket. Since I was living in new hampshire I needed a front plate. The baraket was in the trunk with the hardware to mount it. They are not screws that hold it in. I had to drill four holes in the bumber and the "screws" are actually rivits. The only way to take it off would be to drill out the rivits. Now i'm in florida so I don't nned the plate anymore so I just placed a New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs plate on the front.
