Command Start?
My '03 Alero has keyless entry, but not command start. I was just wondering if its possible to walk into the dealership and buy a plug and play system for upgrading to command start? For example just buying a different module and fobs? I would assume all the wiring is there for the system, just the module needs to be changed. Alot less hassle at the factory and dealerships that way, I would think.
thanks for anything!

Not sure of the '03, but my '99 did NOT have the wiring for the remote door unlock module, so I am guessing there is a chance the command start wiring isn't there either. I could be wrong though. If you have a book for your car, find out where the command start module should be, then check to see if youhave the plugs?? Just an idea??

I have a Haynes manual for it, but its usless for that kind of stuff.
Anyone know where the module is? I have a feeling it might be part of the BCM or something.
Thanks!

the module is clipped into the rear shelf near the trunk light. Unfortunately there's no remote start from the factory in any GM before '06 If i remember right.

yahh you would have to buy a system for it.... my dad used to install the Bulldog ( i think) remote start systems bc he had a good deal with the company. youd get a new fob and all that shazz as well.

i like the system i had put in.. remote start along with security system.. If you kick the tires to hard the alarm goes off. High bass in the car when using the remote start also sets off the alarm. I forget the brand though..

You could use something like this if you didn't want a different remote.
