Yeah..then there is something wrong. You should go get it checked and see what the code is. I bet its a sensor of somekind..

i took it to the dealer to have it checked out but they couldn't do it because i had the code cleared out by auto zone . now i'm just waiting for it to come back on.
by the way auto zone scanned it and said it was the O2 sensor.

Do you smell gas at all? Could be a leak, could be a sensor. Do you do any mod recently?

I had a similar problem, but no "Service Engine Soon" light. My car just started guzzling gas like crazy- come to find out, my K&N filter was dirty as hell! (I have a CAI with the filter in the fenderwell and I live down a dirt road ). That's the only thing I don't like about it- I have to clean the filter every 3.000-5,000 miles!

02 sensors are freakin expensive, plus there is 2 of them. does anyone know of a place to get them for cheap? my car is guzzling gas too and ive changed plugs, wires, air cleaner, fuel filter, no leaks anywhere. im thinkin thats what it has to be.

Bergs22: Mine was the O2 sensor. The light came on and the dealership said it was so I replaced.

No, you should get your O2 sensor replaced!!!! Jeez, you got it scanned, they told you what was wrong, and you didn't fix it.

It is probably the upstream O2 sensor. That is the one that helps to control fuel delivery. If the computer can not detect that sensor, it runs in an open loop fuel control mode, same as when your car is warming up. It is using other sensors (less efficiently) to determine proper fuel delivery. When this happens, it is programmed to run on the rich side, to be safe, thereby using more fuel.
