I figured out that the rear speakers are dead and now i know how to change them all thats left is the get a pair of 6x9's. I only have the stock cd player so i dont need anything with major watts or anything. I listen to alot of rap and some rock. I want something that has decent bass. Im really looking to get a set for about $60 but i could go up to $70 or $80. The lower the better just as long as they are decent speakers. If anyone could tell me a few brands and models so i could look them up and compare pricess it would be much appreciated.
One question I have is that i want a speaker that can fit under the stock grill, but if there is any way to take out the stock grills and use the ones that come with the speakers and make it look half decent i might do that.
Thanks

I have had alpine s types...
Would be ok off deck power or a low power amp... they dont like too much power...
Installed a set of pioneers in my buddys cavi.. they sounded good, they were the base model el cheepo ones.. like 99$ canadian so thats in your price range....
Annother set i installed in a newer cavy were jbl's... they pound.. not sure how much they were... prolly 150-170 canadian... kinda more than you wanna spend.

I got the pioneers ts-a6980r. Great speakers especially for bass because of the aramid fiber and one of the lowest frequency responses you can get in a 6x9. The 4 way also gives it great clarity and sound range. This is probably one of best car speakers I've ever had. It sounded good with stock setup, but when I got a new HU and amp, these suckers can take punishment and sound great.
Very good price on

Oh and as far as the grill, the speakers I mentioned will fit under the stock grill. A little tight because of the deep basket and tall midrange. Actually I have been looking into trying to remove the stock grill and customize something. The grills that come with the speakers aren't the same shape as the funky stock grills. I would also like to know if anyone has customized theirs.

Most 6*9 in my exp. are about the same quality for the same price. Ex. 100.00 dollar pioneer or 100.00dollar jbl will be very much the same. if you are talking about 100.00 dollar to 50.00 dollars then there will be a differance. just pick what you like. just about all of them will fit under the rear deck cover. i like kicker and rockford, but there are many others that are good jbl, jl, mb quart.

I had a set of Boston Acoustic's. Personally I think their sound far outweighed that of Pioneer or Alpine.
They can be a tad pricey..depending.....But the quality was second only to MB Quartz.

hey did ya get those 6x9's yet? when i first got my car back in oct. my back speakers were shot also. i used a volt. meter and there was NOTHING, therefore we couldnt rewire my speakers. also my rear defog wasnt working. when my windows were tinted the first time((by the original owner)) they stripped the tint off and sliced the lines in the window((to defog)) and my wires.. ok so anyhow. i put in RF and they sound awsome with subs. i only paid about $120 for them.
