Strut bar issues

Ok, so lately I've been having some interesting electrical issues. When taking off hard from a stop and when making tight left hand turns, all my lights and my stereo would flicker and go off for a second. It turns out that the positive terminal on the alt was shorting out on the bar. Has anyone else had this issue?
The one thing I dont understand is that the 2 have never touched, and I'm noot sure what I should do to give it more clearance betweeen the 2. Any help would be awesome!

that, or a rubber tube over the bar.

I cant remember the brand name.... its a matching set though, front and back. Its just a simple round tube. A search on gagt.com's for sale has some identical ones for sale, there listed as next level strut bars. If I ever figure out how to post pics, I'll take some pics as to what it did lol.
