Tranny Cooler
I had my metal lines rust away on my '00 Malibu. I cut the lines close to the tranny and flared the ends. I went to AutoZone a bought a $40 tranny cooler and some extra rubber tranny line, and proceeded to remove my front bumper, and entire radiator. I mounted the tranny cooler to the front of the radiator on the drivers side, and routed the lines around the back of the rad. It took some maneuvering, but I got the lines over the metal flared ends on my old lines, and double hose clamped them. I added about 3 quarts and then took it to a garage to have the tranny flushed, filled, filter replaced. Total cost was $40 for the cooler, about $20 for the extra line, and $130 for the flush and fill/filter. Not bad for about $190. No problems since, until I junked the car. Any questions about this job, just ask.
