Hoosier
So I am buying Hoosier 22.5" x 9.5" x 15" slick tires mounted on AERO black 15x8 racing wheels for $125. The tires have only been through 2 passes.
Will my axles be safe? I know spyhunter ran some beefy slicks making 150HP/TQ more than I am lol all on stock axles.
I don't want this to happen:
I'ma pull some mean 60fts and 0-60 times...

It will add some stress thats for sure. But with 200k miles, something is going to break eventually anyways

I've read the point where you stop spinning and catch traction is where you have the most stress. If you don't burn rubber, should be safe. Here's a grain of salt, though.
If you do break something though it just means you should have upgraded it already haha.

I'm not sure where aftermarket axles can be had.
But the guy selling them says he's run slicks on stock axles and launches at 5500 RPM so my 1800 RPM launches should be fine lol.

All depends on the car. Front drive won't hold up like rear drive does. And the high mileage doesn't help. Of course something is going to break sooner or later, this way will just be sooner thats all lol

They're cheap and easy to replace anyway.
Do we have any aftermarket upgraded axle options?

Good call, I'll have that favorited in case something happens. $50 for brand new complete axle is nice.

Hell if I know I'm worried I'm going to get some awesome 60fts!
Here's what's going down before the track:
- Coolingmist trunkmount methanol injection
- intake manifold phenolic spacer
- custom MP62 supercharger setup
- fuel and spark tuning
- A/C delete pulley
- trans cooler hooked up
- new fuel filter (192,000 miles, probably time to change it)

Nah the wheel won't fall off, the wheel will just lose power and the axle will be rotating and bouncing all over the place between the hub and the transmission...
