White Glow Gauges....

well, i've had these white guages, that glow blue or green, for a few months now... it's just me this weekend and feel it would be a wonderful project to take my mind off things... the problem is, i'm ignorant when it comes to wiring.... can someone help me out with the installation.... ya know do's, don'ts and how to's?

Ok, You have 2 wires right? The power and the ground. You'll want to hook the power into a hot wire that comes on with the headlights. And the ground you can screw into something metal (Just find a screw under the dash and take it out then hook the ground into that and put the screw back). As for the power, theres a light in the cubby hold that is triggered with the headlights. Splice into that one. The gray one is the wire you want to tap into. Reason I recommended this wire is because its 12volts, just like your gauges.

Once you splice it and make sure everything works, cover up the thing with some solder or some eletrical tape.

For the ground, do you gotta scrape off the paint or just leave everything the way it is?

i got it installed... the hardest thing was lining up the new gauges, that took a while... one problem though, my speedometer seems to be stuck in place, would that simply mean that it's jammed stuck by the new template face?

^^^meaning what?? the needle dosent move? If thats the case, yea, something is deffinatly wrong, maybe the hole in the gauge is pressing up against the needle causing resistance?

When you put the new face on, did you remove the needles or bend them a little? You may been pulled or pushed them around a little on the the needle bar. Also check to make sure your faces are flat and flush. You could be scraping the gauges.

And like oldsmopimp said, maybe the inner hole isn't lined up right. I hear ya about them being a pain to line up correctly. Took some time for me to get it right.

But wasn't nearly as a pain when I installed my needle lights....had to remove the needles and recalibrate afterward.... <_<

i did these...but was wondering...am i supposed to take the old black gauges out?..i doubt it, but was just wondering becaue my temp needle gets caught...before i painted the dash i just bashed the top of the dash and it would go into place...but now i can't do that...help?

I don't think you can take out the black faces. I think it is all 1 piece. I have a set of the indiglo gauges in mine and I have no problems with mine. I just layed them over the black faces.

it's the ones that i bought from u...they're too think or something...they don't fit right...and i can't align the lights either...

I got the exact same ones that I sold you. I had a hard time lining them up but just took some time. This is a stretch but there may be a difference between the american and canadian gauges. I don't know.

there is, but it's only like small difference that i can get used to...nothing major...hmm..we'll see, i'll rip 'em apart again i guess

Is the needle actually scaping the gauge face or is the needle rubbing near the center hole? Try lifting the gauge needle a little bit off the needle bar. Not to much, don't want to pull it all the way off-cause then you'll have to recalibrate. Also how have you attached it....double sided tape..? I had a scraping problem with mine but I just lifted it a little.....and I mean a little...off the needle bar and all was well...

well I am having probs with my integlow needles, they are awesome looking, but the gas gauge won't go below 1/4 tank, or above 3/4 tank, the tac is all jumpy because it sticks, and the speedo sticks at certain spots, like 10 mph, and it always has troubles going all the way to zero. I think the surface mount LED's are just in the way, but its a pita having to disconnect all the wires to pull it out and fix it issed:

Your gas needle may be calibrated wrong. Fill her up full and recalibrate. If your lights are like mine, you have to be careful with the lead sticker around the needle base. Sometimes if it is off center it can catch or if the needle was put back on to low...same thing.

I know this might be a bit late for a reply on your guages, but I had the same problem with mine. This sounds a bit nuts, but I actually had to leave the cluster hooked up, turn the key over, and line everything up with all the lights on. I noticed that "technically" none of the aftermarket stuff fits straight onto the needles and the like, you just have to line all the lights up and use something to hold it down. I personally, lol, used scotch tape, and its held so far with no problems. Hope this helped some!
