Question Installing Performance Shift feature?

One of the biggest things I miss about my Bonneville is the "Performance Shift" button. The shifts were so crisp and better feeling than "normal shift". Yesterday, I drove my friend's 1999 grand prix GTP and that car has so more much get-up and go than my bonneville ever did. I still think my alero has good acceleration but could see how it could benefit from a system like this. Is this feature a module that could be integrated on the alero or is it something built into the PCM? Could I simply steal some parts off a wercked grand prix and transplant them on my car? I have considered a shift plus but the switch for that is under the hood and as far as I know, you cannot turn it on and off as you drive.... also, i thought it only increases trans fluid pressure, opposed to the stock option that allows the car to downshift with less throttle application. thanks for the help!
