need help picking rims!
alright, so i recently picked up a razzi kit for a rediculous price, and plan on painting it and installing it as soon as it gets warm out. now with the kit on, i think itll look funny with the 15in wheels ive got now, and besides that, the clearcoat is coming off all of them from being through 2 new england winters. anyway, ive got a few sets of wheels ive been scoping out on craigslist and i just need some other opinions to make my decision easier. theres a set of excel wheels, just like whats on the car but 17in, with just about brand new off brand tires for $450. also a set of 7 spoke silver painted wheels with 2 good tires and 2 not so good tires. asking price is $200 for everything. those i would plan on painting/powdercoating matte black. link: http://westernmass.craigslist.org/pts/1540364218.html
so im just wanting some opinions on what would look better/be a better deal to help me make up my mind. also, if anyone wants to PS the 2 different wheels on my car that would be cool. there should be pictures in other threads you can use. i realize this is probly the longest thread ever asking about rims, but im bored out of my mind with nothing else to do. thanks in advance.

The 7 spoke not black would be what I would do. If you want powdercoat i'd powdercoat silver

ya, i might see how they look silver, but im really leaning towards black. tails are tinted black. windows will be tinted soon. ive also got black grill mesh up front. kinda going for an all black and white theme.

I think black powdercoat would be cool on those rims and 17 is a good size.
What size are the tires and do the rims have the correct bolt pattern and offset?

ive seen all of those. dont like any of them, and some are too pricey.
@reddog: ya, ive talked with the guy about everything and the offset ane bolt pattern is correct. tires are as close as possible to overall stock size too, but 2 he said will have to be replaced.

those would be perfect, all i would have to do would be paint/powdercoat them black. too bad i dont live anywhere near michigan, and im sure they wont ship them all the way to massachusetts.
@jlw7123, brand doesnt matter, and color doesnt really either if they are cheap enough because im going to make them matte black to fit with the theme of my car. i am really looking for 5-7 spoke wheels tho, now kind of leaning towards 7 spoke, which is what the ones ive been looking at are. most likely if they are still around when i get my taxes back im gonna buy them and a few cans of paint and see what happens.

well i just picked up the wheels ive been looking at. they are excel brand, which is what ive got now, so thats alright. although in the pics they looked just like motegi mr7s. no curb rash or anything on any of them, but one has a dent on the edge, but has held air for 3 years since it happened. the tires are a little worse than i expected but still drivable. the car they were on must have been dropped really low and no camber kit used because the inner edge of all of them is bald, while the outside of 2 has maybe 60% tread and the other 2 have 40%. as soon as it gets nicer out they are going to be painted matte black, and mounted on the car.

Mine wore on the inside edge till the Wires popped out.
But I just found out that my Front suspension was completely shot, probably since I've had the car. Check for rubbing when turning. have someone do slow circles around you and chase them listening for it.

I can see an old lady looking out her window and calling the police for a high speed chase for grand theft auto taking place outside. Ohhh elderly people and their loss of reaction time.

these are the wheels:
Attachment 8484
all are in great shape, with no curb rash or anything. which doesnt really matter because im painting them anyway
two of the tires look like this:
Attachment 8485
which are the "good" ones.
other ones look like this:
Attachment 8486
those are the "bad" ones
also bad is this dent on one of them
Attachment 8487
Attachment 8488
holds air fine tho, so im going to leave it for now.
as soon as its decent outside im gonna start sanding and cleaning so i can get them painted and on the car.

since its almost the end of winter, im hoping to get these on the car soon. they are going to be flat black, and since i dont have the $200-$300 to get them powdercoated, theyre gonna be painted. i was just wondering if anyones got advice on painting them. any paint better than others?, what should i do as far as prep work? any info you have i would greatly appreciate. cant wait to get them on the car.
