I have a 2001 Alero with 3.4 and 57,000 miles on it. Yesterday I washed it, drove it out of the car wash and vacuumed it, then i tried to start it again to leave. it will only crank over and sound like its gonna start but it wont. Could it have just been my fuel pump died or what?? I'm going to have towed to the dealership tommorrow

Fuel pump, fuel filter, alternator, could be a bunch of things.

I know when mine wouldn't start it was the alternator.

hmmm, should start if the ALT is out, as long as the battery has a charge, and if it's cranking over.

but yea, sounds like it's not getting any fuel. did you wash the engine at the car wash?
