Thumbs up

My Alero has white pinstripes running down both sides of the car. I hate them. How do I remove them? Or do I have to paint over them?

You peel it off and use denatured alcohol or laquer thinner.

I used goo gone on my car to remove tar, it didn't do anything to the paint.

ok goo gone will not hurt the factory clear at all, laquer thinner will not either
go to your local body shop supplier and ask for a rubber eraser wheel it can attach to your electric drill
it removes pin strips removes doulbe sided tape
takes it right off clean the rest off with a wax and grease remover
if it has faded the clear in any way ya might want to buff the car out to bring the shine back

I got some chick I work with to remove at least a little bit of em today. Cuz she's got finger nails. Goo gone worked great getting the sticky residue off. I'll have her work on it slowly bit by bit for the next two days at work.

dude, it should take no longer than 15 minutes to do this. Took me 20 minutes total to take off the side molding and the rear badges and dealer sticker. (lucky me, I didn't have pinstripes)

All I did when I removed mine is used a plastic putty knife or some plastic thing and goo-gone...took me like 15 mins a side. Until I got help, but then it took a few mins...IMHO it looks SOO much better with out them....good luck man

Give em' some heat with a hairdrier(unless you have a heat gun-don't go above 7-you'll know what I mean if you have one) Will make the job much easier.I've done this many a time in the body shop.
