Hi folks.. long time no see

I'm finally getting around to the Alero IRS swap onto my Cavalier... there's one guy I know who's done it so far... but I'm confused about his measurement here:

I don't know where he got the 9" measurement from. He ended up having to shorten all the bars and even the strut to make it work. I think his measurement is wrong... but of course, I don't have an Alero to check on..

Anyone able to measure the distance as seen above? From the mounting point on the body/rail to the crossmember under the spare tire well.

Much appreciated!!!

Ok, i went to a local auto wrecker and checked.. and I'm right have to toot my own horn since no one else will :alcoholic:

I do need two more measurements, if anyone is willing to help out.. One is easy, one not as easy.

1. The distance between the tops of the strut towers.... measured from anywhere (bolt holes, bolts, hole in top of strut tower, whatever....

2. The distance between the two mounts for the trailing arms. Again, anywhere.. inside, outside... doesn't matter. It's an hour drive to the closest wrecker to me, and I wish I'd written these down to compare

Thanks

To be different? Better handling? Beefier hubs? Rear disc brakes? Do something that no one else has done? (Ok, that's not true... but I'm going to do it properly )

Lots of reasons..

I'm upgrading the rear discs to the baer 12" kit.. to go with my 13" fronts. PFYC.com stiffer rear sway bar. Lowering it on Eibach Pro-kit (to match the front) and KYB's (since I can't find a Koni application).

It's a weekend driver/show car... so it's gotta have unique stuff.
