didn't break, plus the ear was visibly moved from the car, only a pair of springs from what i can see are holding the ear on, has anyone have this happen, and know what the repair cost would be? From what I can see, the auto mirror motor still works and rotates properly but the plastic or carbon figer ear that connects to the door is visibly cracked and I'm not sure how much that would cost. The Gm dealership where I now live is pretty shoddy and did a bad repair job when I came in for the intake manifold gasket repairs... I can't get the interior part of the cap from the coolant off, the threads must be off...I can't figure that out either, any help would be great!

i had one break and i believe it is impossible to order just the glass as a replacement... you have to get a whole new unit. i went to my local glass shop and had them cut a mirrir to fill the area and siliconed it to the motor face... it looks a little different than the other side casue it doesn't have that black trim around it but its not a noticable thing... id buy aftermath's if i were you casue they aren't cheap to replace at the dealership

hate to break the news to you, but when my girl broke her mirror on her 99 alero, she had to replace the whole thing. there wasn't any where that she could just get a mirror from. i don't remember the price though.

I know I can't just replace the mirror, I need to most likely replace the entire mirror housing because the black piece that holds the mirror and auto mirror motor snapped in the impact.
